The hope when it came to #12DaysofAnime was to have this be the final post, to be released on Christmas Day. Unfortunately writing at length on a daily basis is more challenging than you’d expect, especially when you’re sick. Irrespective of circumstances I wasn’t able to keep up throughout the entire thing. Judging by the rest of the participants that isn’t terribly uncommon, so I guess I can take it in stride. From my knowledge this collective project usually starts much earlier than it did this year too.
With this as Day 10 I’ll only have two posts left to write. I want to do a introspective/look back on #12Days and the experiences I’ve had for the final post, so for Day 11 I plan to release an end of year award show. I already have the groundwork laid out for both of these posts and two sections fully written up, so that takes some of the workload off me. I don’t want to give an ETA however, since I’m notorious for putting out deadlines I have no chance of meeting.
Happy Holidays! I imagine most of you will be spending the majority of your time with friends & family rather than reading sort-of-but-not-really anime related posts. I hope you’re having a wonderful time, and if not, I’m right here if you want to talk. I would love as much as anyone to rant about 2016 but forget that, 2017 is where it’s at. Think of all Japanese cartoons you can watch! The heated debates about a characters sex life! The trending fashion & fanart! If the world is going to burn then at least you’ll have something pretty to look at. If it doesn’t then you’ll get another year to do all this stuff over again. What’s not to love?
I myself have aspirations going into the next year. I want to replicate the regularity of my blogging here into a larger scale, by that I mean posting a couple of times a month instead of say, 5 times in one week followed by a 6 month hiatus. I’m also going to push on this Belladonna of Sadness thing I have going on, although I can’t promise it will ever be released. My vision for it might be beyond my scope but I can’t know until I really give it a try. It should be fun either way. Additionally I want to spread myself out in the community. Not necessarily to get traffic since this isn’t a business for me, only that I would love to do joint projects with people, interviews or guest writing. Most of the fun in the Aniblogging scene genuinely comes from socializing with others.
I’ll leave it at that. Wanting to keep it short today since ~priorities~ ‘n’ all that jazz. Enjoy the rest of your day!
